EIT Digital launched the Venture Program 2020 this week, supporting entrepreneurial teams from 20 European countries with deep tech business ideas to finalise their MVP and start their venture. Applications will be accepted until 26 April 2020.The EIT Digital Venture Program helps entrepreneurs with deep tech business concepts to develop and finalise their Minimum Viable Product (MVP), establish their startup company, and to find a first investor. The program offers an eight-week Pre-Acceleration executed by five regional partners in Greece, Latvia, Poland, Portugal and Slovenia. Also, teams receive financial support of up to €25,000 in 3 stages, from MVP to incorporation up to finding a first investor.
“At EIT Digital, we believe in innovators who set out to break down barriers and change an industry, no matter where they come from. With our regional partner ABC Accelerator, we help ideas to mature in MVPs and teams to grow in investment-ready companies in just 2 months.,” says EIT Digital’s Jasmina Popovska.
The best entrepreneurial teams coming from the Western Balkan countries, that will be selected to join the EIT Digital Venture Program, will be supported to develop and finalise their MVPs by ABC Accelerator and its international network of top experts during an 8-week Pre-Acceleration program.
Having a successful company is not just about having a good idea and fate. The project must address potential clients’ needs. As founders, the people behind Hotspoter had to find the missing piece of the puzzle, a niche in the market. After developing a great idea, the next step was finding investors and a growth path. In the case of Hotspoter, EIT Digital’s Venture Program was the perfect place to start. “It helped us to build a solid foundation to grow and scale. Its main focus was on business and how to prepare the MVP. During the programme, we had different courses from pitching sessions and customer interviews, to ‘how to talk to potential investors’ training. It made our service clearer and helped us to identify the other sectors to cover” summarises Igor Anicic, founder of Hotspoter.
Applicant teams can come from one of these 20 countries: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Estonia, Greece, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, or Ukraine
