Bosnia and Herzegovina’s (BiH) Republika Srpska entity inked a deal with Saudi Arabia’s Masco Group for the construction of a 60 MW solar power plant in the north-eastern town of Bijeljina, its energy ministry said.

In a statement posted on the ministry’s Facebook account on Friday, it said that the project would be the first in line of those planned by the Masco Group.

“The intention is to embark on significantly larger projects related to road infrastructure and the use of hydrogen as propulsion for the operation of heavy mechanisation,” the ministry cited Republika Srpska’s prime minister Radovan Viskovic as saying without further elaboration.
