Montel has acquired UK-based analysis firm EnAppSys in a bid to expand its services across Europe, its owner Riverside said on Monday.

Founded in 2003, UK-based EnAppSys provided analysis services to a wide range of business customers across the European energy sector, it added in a statement, though did not disclose any financial details.

The acquisition would strengthen the product offering and geographical reach of Montel, the Norway-based energy news and information service provider acquired by Riverside in September last year.

“Strong base”

“EnAppSys is extremely strong in GB and Ireland, where Montel has limited operations and also provides a strong base in [the] Benelux,” said Karsten Langer, European managing partner at Riverside and Montel chairman.

“Similarly, Montel is strong in the Nordics and DACH [Germany, Austria, Switzerland] region and has a fast growing presence in France, Iberia and central eastern Europe, which will allow the combined group to serve pan-European markets with a more complete product offering,” he added.
