The local government in Canton 10 of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Federation (FBiH) entity will offer a concession for 100 MW of combined solar power capacity near the south-western town of Livno, it said on Thursday.

Its decision confirms that the solar farm is in the public interest and that it will include four facilities with 25 MW of capacity each. It will be built in the villages of Dobro and Zabljak, the statement posted on its website adds.

The local government also says that the canton’s economy ministry has been tasked with launching a tender for the concession.

Canton 10 is the only one of FBiH’s ten cantons that has drafted a new energy law which is expected to streamline bureaucratic procedures and attract investment to the energy sector. It has not yet been adopted.
