The Bileca municipal assembly in south-eastern Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) decided on Wednesday to draft a spatial plan which would include 440 MW of new solar and wind capacity.

This plan would include the NK Solar Group’s 270 MW Bileca 1 solar farm project, the V&Z Zastita company’s 10 MW Zlatiste-Vlahinja solar farm project and the 40 MW Trnovica-Vrbica solar farm project being developed by the local branch of a Serbian company, Milos Bosnjak, the head of the municipality’s urban planning department, told Montel on Thursday without elaborating further.

The new plan would also include the 120 MW Planik hybrid solar and wind farm planned by the Israeli company Big Shopping Centers (Big Cee), he added.

Bosnjak told Montel that the government of BiH’s Republika Srpska entity, in which Bileca is located, had already granted concessions for the Zlatiste-Vlahinja and the Planik projects, while administrative procedures for the other two are ongoing.

The municipality expects revenues of around EUR 1m per year once these renewable energy projects are connected to the grid, Bosnjak said.
