The renewables developer MDD Energy has submitted a preliminary environmental impact assessment (EIA) request for a 30 MW solar farm in Bosnia and Herzegovina’s (BiH) south-eastern Nevesinje municipality.

The environment ministry of BiH’s Republika Srpska entity confirmed the EIA request to Montel on Monday, adding that it will be available for public review until 2 November.

According to the request, the solar farm will stretch over an area of 13.5 hectares and will produce an average of 120 GWh of electricity per year.

Earlier in October, the energy ministry of the Republika Srpska entity awarded MDD Energy a 50-year concession for the solar power plant. The facility, which is expected to cost EUR 22.4m, should be built in the next five years.
