Elektroprivreda Crne Gore (EPCG) reported that the new executive director of Elektroprivreda Crne Gore Enrico Malerba and the head financial director Massimo Sala arrived to Niksic on 5 March 2010, when they officially took over their duties. Following the proposal of a partner (A2A company), the Italian management also appointed the Board of Directors of EPCG on 12 February 2010.

The arrival of Enrico Malerba and Massimo Sala to the head of the executive management is subject to agreement between the Government of Montenegro and the Italian company A2A on capital increase and partial privatization of EPCG. This agreement envisages taking over of the executive management of Elektroprivreda by a strategic partner, thus ensuring faster achievement of European standards in the Montenegrin electricity industry management.
After the new representatives of the executive management of Elektroprivreda become thoroughly acquainted with the situation in the company within the coming weeks, they will present their solutions, programme and company management plan to the Montenegrin public.
It is evident that a lot of work awaits them from the very beginning. Namely, according to the Montenegrin daily newspaper Vijesti, immediately before their arrival the opposition party – Pokret za promene (PzP) (Movement for change) – started the initiative to form a Survey Committee in the Assembly of Montenegro, in order to inspect the situation in the electricity sector. This opposition party reported that the Survey Committee could be authorised to inspect and analyse the agreement between EPCG and the Italian company A2A, technical and economic conditions in Elektroprivreda and the activity plan for the next five years. The Committee would also study the Rules on tariffs for the electricity sale, commercial contracts, prices and quantities of the supplied electricity, as well as the relationships between Elektroprivreda and Kombinat aluminija (Aluminium Combine), Zeljezarna (Ironworks) and other major (direct) consumers.
