Power utility Elektroprivreda Republike Srpske (EPRS) is not the subject of any discussions or negotiations on its sale, Republika Srpska’s Prime Minister Milorad Dodik assured the press at Banja Luka. He added that a sale of the respective power utility was out of the question, which had been made clear by the government of Republika Srpska and the parliament alike.

Dodik said that selling Elektroprivreda would be a big blow to the citizens of Republika Srpska and its economy, as the price of electricity would reach market price levels, which meant it would grow by 40 per cent, and that was something that the government should not allow.
"We have surplus power, and are trying to find strategic partners for power generation developments, and that is what the policy on EPRS is all about; everything else is just speculation and scheming by some parties", Dodik said in his response to the allegations of Serbian Democratic Party (SDS) – which is the main party of the opposition in Republika Srpska – that he was negotiating intensively the sale of this only resource in Republika Srpska.
Dodik accused SDS of being to blame for the poor condition of the power utility which up until two years was a loss-maker and has now been generating profit for two consecutive years as well as boosted electricity exports.
