Trained experts in mechanical and electrical engineering have been undertaking such activities at the Kakanj mine for years without any outsourcing, contributing thus to saving money. Over the course of the next 15 days, the digger that was under repair will be taken to an underground pit 10 kilometres away where it will be used for coal extraction at a depth of 150 metres and once it starts operating, will daily extract around 1,000 tons of coal.At the same time, they will also put in operation the self propelled hydraulic support structure of German make, which has also been recently repaired by employing their own workforce. The overall estimate of the repairs of the respective digger, the self propelled support structure, and transport systems totals some 225,000 Euros and all works have been completed within less than a month.
The plan of Elektroprivreda BiH concern is to engage their own capacities in all the repairs of such machinery and similar mining equipment in the future.
